Supporting the Scaramouche Sailing Trust in Empowering Girls’ Sailing Experience

The OCCCT is proud to announce its recent financial support to the Scaramouche Sailing Trust, aimed at facilitating an unforgettable sailing experience in the Solent. This initiative, made possible through OCCCT’s commitment to maritime education and empowerment, enabled a group of young girls to embark on an enriching voyage aboard the Rona Sailing Project’s vessel, the ‘Donald Searle’, during the Easter season.

Throughout their four-night journey on the Solent, participants actively engaged in all facets of marine life, from managing the vessel’s operations both above and below decks to navigating various weather conditions, including sunshine, rain, and winds. Despite encountering a day of being stormbound, the resilience and teamwork exhibited by all onboard were commendable. Amidst the challenges, the experience served as a platform for learning, growth, and camaraderie, fostering a deeper appreciation for sailing and life at sea.
